What drives you and what do you enjoy most about being a data analyst?
I enjoy streamlining manual, everyday tasks through automation, enhancing efficiency by completing processes faster and with greater precision. Additionally, one of the most rewarding aspects of my role is transforming raw datasets into clear, actionable insights for clients. I like to compare it to renovating a house: at first, the data may appear disorganized or incomplete, but through careful cleaning, refining, and structuring, it evolves into something that’s visually compelling and highly valuable.

What was your journey to the investment world and NPF specifically?
While in college, my roommate was a finance major who really enjoyed keeping tabs on the market and I often found myself asking him various questions about its current state, future state, etc. I was always very curious, but I had no idea what he was talking about. So, I started doing research on my own to gain some knowledge. A couple of years following, when I received an offer from NPF, I was more than excited to accept and get started in an industry that had long captured my interest, offering a chance to apply my knowledge and continue to grow in an always changing environment.

What are the values that drive you in your professional and personal life?
Adopting the perspective that every experience—whether in your professional or personal life—offers a valuable lesson is an insightful approach. By reframing challenges as opportunities for growth, you eliminate the notion of “bad days” altogether. It may sound cliché, but this mindset fosters resilience and continuous self-improvement. Embracing this outlook allows you to transform setbacks into meaningful learning moments, reinforcing the idea that life’s difficulties can serve as catalysts for growth. In doing so, you’re not just enduring adversity, but actively evolving through it.

Where did you grow up and where do you live today?
I grew up in Jackson, Michigan with my parents and sister. After graduating from high school in 2016, I moved to Grand Rapids to attend Grand Valley State and have been here ever since.

Is there a person or experience that influenced you most?
My father has always been my greatest supporter, consistently encouraging me to push beyond my limits, even when it seemed unnecessary at the time. What truly stands out are the intangible lessons he taught while I was growing up—values and principles that continue to guide me every day. His influence has shaped not just my work ethic, but also the way I approach challenges and opportunities in life.

What is your favorite book…movie…band…podcast…sport (entertainment and/or business)?
My favorite movie, by far, is Interstellar. I studied biochemistry for 3 ½ years in college before switching to Information Systems. One of my favorite classes while I was a biochemistry major was physics. I would watch movies and documentaries on space and physics in my free time. Interstellar is a great mix between theoretical physics and science fiction. There is always something new I learn or notice each time I watch the movie.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have a wide range of interests that keep me busy. Aside from consistently watching sports, playing golf, and working out, I also play the piano. I began at a young age but took a hiatus during college before rediscovering my love for it. While my focus was initially on pieces from the Baroque era, I’ve recently started exploring various styles and compositions. It’s been a rewarding journey, expanding both my technical abilities and my appreciation for music.
