Personal Insights
What drives you and what do you enjoy most about being a Client Relations Manager?
I love helping people and building personal relationships. I strive to be someone who our clients can rely on.
What was your journey to the investment world and NPF specifically?
Right after graduating from Cornerstone University, I worked in insurance for 2 years. During my time in the insurance industry, I found that I desired more direct interaction with clients relating to the financial portion of insurance and moved to a cashiering position at Brookstone Capital Management. After about a year at Brookstone, I joined the team at NPF in 2022 and feel the company aligns more with my goals and long-term plans.
What are the values that drive you in your professional and personal life?
Kindness and compassion. I do my best to try and understand the other person’s perspective and, if possible, make things a little easier for someone else.
Is there a person or experience that influenced you most?
My parents! I feel very fortunate to have grown up with the family that I did. My dad always taught me that nothing is worth doing if you’re not going to give it your all, while my mom taught me generosity through the way she was always using her talents and resources to better those around her.
What is your favorite (place/restaurant/venue/etc.) in Grand Rapids/West Michigan?
I love the brunch at The Winchester. I really love all breakfast food, but The Winchester has an incredible Breakfast club that I will never get sick of.
What is your favorite book…movie…band…podcast…sport?
I’m a voracious reader so it’s challenging to pick just one book! I recently read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig and loved it. I’m also a big fan of Malcolm Gladwell, Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Emily Henry.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Recently I’ve been getting more into cooking. Growing up we always had amazing home cooked meals and a lot of good conversations happened during those meals. I’m a firm believer that sharing a meal is a great way to connect with people and form relationships. I also enjoy hiking, especially up north in the Glen Arbor area and out in Colorado. Both incredible.
