Experience: Joined NPF in 2021 after four years in various positions with FormulaFolio Investments
Education: University of Pennsylvania Nursing School
What was your journey from nursing school to NPF?
I finally admitted to myself that healthcare wasn’t for me (after fainting during several medical procedures during my three years of nursing school.) My first “nonmedical job” was as a Licensing Coordinator with a firm in Holland, MI that specialized in collegiate licensing and marketing. In 2017, I joined FormulaFolios in Grand Rapids, MI and gained experience as an Advisor Services Associate, Cashiering Account Manager, and Finance Associate before joining NPF.
Why is NPF a good fit for you?
I love the personal approach here. The Investment Advisors really seem to know their clients as unique individuals with unique needs and goals.
Why are you a good fit for NPF?
I strive to be as diligent and supportive as I can possibly be for clients. I’m a perfectionist!
What gives you the most satisfaction in your work?
I enjoy the interaction with clients and advisors, and I get a kick out of figuring out how to solve a challenge.
Where are you from and where do you live today?
I grew up in Zeeland and now I live in Allegan, in the middle of nowhere. But I love to travel – I got engaged in Nepal and we hope to honeymoon in Tasmania.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In addition to an Alaskan Malamute, we raise chickens and have a huge summer garden that keep friends and family supplied with eggs and fresh vegetables. That keeps me pretty busy, but I do make time for concerts – 20 Monroe Live is a great place for live music.
What might people be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve been certified as both a Child Passenger Safety Technician and a Forklift Operator. Thanks to my time at UPenn, I’m a big fan of Philly Cheesesteaks, water ice (pronounced ‘wooder’), running the Rocky steps and even intense Eagles fans. (Just don’t wear dark colors at a ‘whiteout’ game – I learned that the hard way.
