NPF Investment Advisors is proud to welcome Pedro Gomes as our newest Wealth Planning Associate.
Pedro Gomes comes to NPF with a background in financial planning as well as a long tenure in the non-profit sector.
“I started my career at an award-winning financial planning company in Johannesburg, South Africa. In my late 20’s I accepted the incredible opportunity to volunteer in the Brazilian Amazon. That experience led to nearly a decade of working in social projects across the world. Now at a different stage of life, I’ve recently moved back into the financial planning industry.”
Much of his work in the non-profit sector focused on serving at-risk youth. Pedro worked with Salesian Institute Youth Projects Cape Town, implementing a collaborative vocational education program with Porsche and the Salesians of Don Bosco. He has also taught English to students in the Brazilian Amazon and South Korea.
In 2019, Pedro and his family settled in Grand Rapids, and he received a master’s degree in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Grand Valley State University. Most recently he was the Mission Advancement and Advocacy Manager at Catholic Charities West Michigan.
When asked why he joined the team at NPF, Gomes commented that he was excited to work with a team that was leading the way with holistic, client-centered financial planning and investment strategies.
Outside of work, Pedro enjoys spending time with his two young daughters and wife. Pedro also sits on the board of Deus Caritas Est, a local nonprofit addressing food insecurity among seniors in our community.
