Meet Dan Michaud

Dan Michaud joined NPF May 31 as one of two new Associate Investment Advisors charged with learning the “NPF way” to ensure that we have the capacity to serve a continuing influx of clients.

Dan graduated from Aquinas College with dual degrees in Business Administration and Mathematics. “I knew I liked numbers, and I liked working with people” he says, so he went into finance. He got his first real start with the local office of an international investment company, where he served as a relationship manager, implementing financial plans and identifying sales opportunities.

He then joined a local credit union as a wealth management advisor, “I got to help my clients take control of their financial futures through proper money management” he says. He enjoyed the entrepreneurial nature of it, but after earning his Certified Financial Planner™ certification he was eager to focus and delve deeper into the planning aspect when NPF came calling.

“There’s so much information out there in terms of finances, it’s confusing and time-consuming for most people,” he says. “The opportunity to be the trusted person who can take the pressure off and guide investors through wealth building is what I’m really passionate about.” Dan credits his math teacher father with instilling in him the ability to translate complex topics like stocks and bonds into layperson’s terms.

Dan grew up in Grand Rapids, attending Forest Hills Northern High School, and now lives in Grandville with his wife, Karen, and their two young children. Their social schedule is dominated by kids’ activities, but they find time for an occasional date night at favorite haunts like Donkey Taqueria, Friesian Gastro Pub and Cooper’s Hawk. Dan also volunteers for Kids’ Food Basket, sings in a church choir alongside his dad, works on his golf game and would like to get back into coaching after an earlier stint with the freshman football team at Forest Hills Eastern.

“I’ve only been at NPF a little while, but it’s clear everyone here cares about each other and their clients. It’s a great place to be.”
