NPF team members got out of the office and into the fields on September 16, 2022, as we volunteered at Growing Roots Farm in Comstock Park. Growing Roots is a non-profit organization that helps teenagers and adults with developmental and cognitive challenges – such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, mental illness and cognitive impairments – achieve greater independence and empowerment through nature-based activities.
It was harvest time on the farm, and we worked alongside program participants to start the prep for winter. We were inspired by the enthusiasm and knowledge of our co-workers for the day – they certainly taught us a thing or two – and we came away even more impressed with the life-altering power of the Growing Roots mission.
